When Kumropotash dances, do not go near the stable. Don't look right, don't look left, don't look behind — and hang from the hottomula tree by all four legs.

Nobody has seen Kumropotash. In 1923, Ray sets out what everyone must do when it dances, weeps, laughs, runs or calls. Almost every institution has had one since: a rule nobody can explain, traced back to nobody at all, and nobody willing to be the first to ignore it.

This is Ray's own pen drawing, digitally restored from the original plate at 300 DPI. Not a redrawing and not an interpretation — the same hatching he put on the page.

180 GSM poly-cotton, bio- and silicon-washed — smoother than the price suggests. Ribbed Lycra collar.

Polyester doesn't breathe like cotton. But, it holds colour and shape far longer in return.

DTF print — a fine layer on the surface. You can feel it slightly.

Classic - ₹799

The one most people choose.

180 GSM, 100% super-combed cotton. Combed smooth, bio-washed, pre-shrunk. Ribbed Lycra collar, double-stitched at shoulder and hem.

DTG print — the ink goes into the cotton, not onto it. The drawing becomes part of the cloth.

Signature - ₹1099

The one you keep.

160 GSM extra-long staple SUPIMA cotton. Longer fibres, softer in the hand, and still looking new a year after a year.

Lighter than the Classic. Finer, not thinner. Ribbed Lycra collar, DTG print.

All measurements are of the garment itself, in inches. The same chart applies to Blend, Classic and Signature — only the cloth changes, never the cut.

How to measure: lay flat a t-shirt you already like. Chest is armpit to armpit, doubled. Length is from the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem. Shoulder is seam to seam across the back. This is a regular fit. Size up if you prefer a relaxed fit — or if you're between two sizes.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Wash cold, inside out, gentle cycle. Mild detergent.
No bleach. No fabric softener on the print. Don't wring it.
Dry in shade, still inside out — sun fades ink faster than washing does.
Iron on the reverse only. Never directly on the drawing.
No dry cleaning. No hot tumble dry.
Treated decently, the print will outlast the shirt.

(যদি) কুম্‌‌ড়োপটাশ নাচে—
খবরদার এসো না কেউ আস্তাবলের কাছে;
চাইবে নাকো ডাইনে বাঁয়ে চাইবে নাকো পাছে;
চার পা তুলে থাকবে ঝুলে হট্টমূলার গাছে!

(যদি) কুম্‌‌ড়োপটাশ কাঁদে—
খবরদার! খবরদার! বসবে না কেউ ছাদে;
উপুড় হয়ে মাচায় শুয়ে লেপ কম্বল কাঁধে;
বেহাগ সুরে গাইবে খালি ‘রাধে কৃষ্ণ রাধে’!

(যদি) কুম্‌‌ড়োপটাশ হাসে—
থাকবে খাড়া একটি ঠ্যাঙে রান্নাঘরের পাশে;
ঝাপ্‌সা গলায় ফার্সি কবে নিশ্বাসে ফিস্‌ফাসে;
তিনটি বেলা উপোস করে থাকবে শুয়ে ঘাসে!

(যদি) কুম্‌‌ড়োপটাশ ছোটে—
সবাই যেন তড়বড়িয়ে জানলা বেয়ে ওঠে;
হুঁকোর জলে আলতা গুলে লাগায় গালে ঠোঁটে;
ভুলেও যেন আকাশ পানে তাকায় না কেউ মোটে!

(যদি) কুম্‌‌ড়োপটাশ ডাকে—
সবাই যেন শাম্‌লা এঁটে গামলা চড়ে থাকে;
ছেঁচকি শাকের ঘণ্ট বেটে মাথায় মলম মাখে;
শক্ত ইঁটের তপ্ত ঝামা ঘষতে থাকে নাকে!

তুচ্ছ ভেবে এ-সব কথা করছে যারা হেলা,
কুম্‌‌ড়োপটাশ জানতে পেলে বুঝবে তখন ঠেলা।
দেখবে তখন কোন্‌ কথাটি কেমন করে ফলে,
আমায় তখন দোষ দিও না, আগেই রাখি বলে।
